I need help/ideas for a compare/contrast essay on the novel The Life of Pi and the poem The Tyger? Much appreciated!

In Life of Pi, Pi is stranded on a
boat with a tiger who continually tests Pi's resilience.  Begin to deconstruct the
tiger's character:  what are some of his traits? motivation? characteristics?  Then,
compare these to the tiger presented in Blake's poem "The Tyger."  Throughout the poem,
the speaker wonders whether such a fierce creature could ever be a creation of nature
(God) or whether the tiger was created by some other force.  The two tigers might be
compared on this level since the tiger in the novel tests Pi's faith.  Consider the role
that the tigers play in both the novel and the poem for elements of
contrast.
