In Fahrenheit 451 how does Granger help Guy Montag in his reeducation?

Granger helps Montag in numerous ways, all of which aid in
his ability to reeducate himself about the world around him.  When Montag discovers
Granger and his band of refugees, he is on the run, scared, and being hunted for his
life.  Granger openly accepts him and tells them what they have been up to on the
outskirts.  After the bomb goes off, they fully assimilate him as part of the group that
will go back and help to rebuild civilization, this time hopefully as it should be
built, not making the same mistakes.  So, here are a few of the ways Granger helps
Montag:

1.  He accepts Montag for being the intellectual
that he is, instead of stifling and hunting him for it.  This helps in the reeducation
process, because Montag can breathe a sigh of relief, and have the actual freedom to ask
questions and seek the answers.

2. He lets Montag know that
he can truly help by offering what knowledge he has. He can offer the knowledge of the
bible that he has partially memorized.  That makes Montag feel useful, and full of
purpose.

3.  He introduces Montag to an entire group of
people that can help teach him.

4.  He gives Montag
leadership, trust and respect in their mission to rebuild
society.

5.  He gives Montag precious knowledge that his
own grandfather had given him, also through the myth of the Phoenix, and through other
tidbits.

In these ways and in many more to come, Granger
helps and will help Montag to build a new life, and to feel confident in his new role.
I hope that helped; good luck!
