Sorry about the grammatical and spelling mistakes in the
first response.
I'm thinking that you are referring to
shoes made by machine as opposed to shoes made by
hand.
Status of Machine
Shoes
Shoes have been industrialized from crafting
techniques to using rubber, plastic, synthetic materials and industrial adhesives.
Soles, originaly hand stitched with leather, are still made of leather in expensive
shoes. However, soles are now also synthetic and attached with machinery or glued onto
shoes.
Role of Machine
Shoes
Most shoes have replaceable insoles. Insoles are
place in shoes for comfort, sweat absorbency, smell control and shape. Some shoes have
extra insoles for certain disabilities. The heel of the sole is rubber for traction. The
front of the sole is for style. The sole can have cleats embedded for traction in
football or can be hard for dancing. The outsole comes in direct contact with the
ground. Dress shoes have a leather sole, since they are worn occasionally. But casual
and athletic shoes have an outsole that is rubber or synthetic imitation. Between the
outsole and insole is a layer for shock absorbency. Also, an extra layer beneath the
heel is used for shock absorbency in exercise shoes. (Since the heel is where pressure
is exerted during sports and exercise). Any shoe has a top part to hold the shoe on the
foot.
