What does Montag try to tell his wife before he goes to work in Fahrenheit 451?

Looking at the rest of the questions that you and your
friends are asking, I assume that you are talking about the part where Montag goes back
to work the morning after Millie almost dies from the overdose of her sleeping pills.
If this is what you are talking about, what he tries to tell her is that she took all
her pills and that she almost died.  He says to her

readability="5">

"I wanted to talk to you." He paused. "You took
all the pills in your bottle last
night."

By telling her this,
he is trying to get her to see that something is wrong with her life (and their life
together).  But she pretty much just ignores him.  This shows us how bad things are in
her mind -- she really doesn't understand how empty her life is.
