Solve the equation ( x^3 + x^2 + 3x - 10 )^1/3 = x.

We'll expand to the cube expressions from both
sides:

[( x^3 + x^2 + 3x - 10 )^1/3]^3 =
x^3

x^3 + x^2 + 3x - 10 =
x^3

We'll eliminate like
terms:

x^2 + 3x - 10 = 0

We'll
apply quadratic formula:

x1 =
[-3+sqrt(9+40)]/2

x1 =
(-3+7)/2

x1 =
2

x2 =
(-3-7)/2

x2 =
-5

Comment on the setting and character of "The Fall of the House of Usher."How does setting act as a character?

Excellent observation, as it identifies how the settings of Poe's stories reflect the characters of their protagonists. Whet...
