What are the chain of events in the story?Intro, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion. That stuff. They each only have to be one or...

Walter Dean Myers wrote a book called Slam but so did Ann
M. Martin and Nick Hornby.

I am guessing you are talking
about the book written by Walter Dean Myers so thats the one I will summarize for
you.

Intro: Greg Harris is a high school student also known
as slam because of his basketball ability. Basketball is his top priority however he
does have a hard time being a team player.

Rising Action:
Greg transfers from his high school which is mostly african american and low
socio-economic status to an all white school in an upper-class area. There he begins to
fail math and have trouble being a team player and is constantly at battle with his
coach.

Climax: All of the problems in Slams life come to a
crashing halt when he is having trouble with his girlfriend, his dying grandfather, his
best friend Ice who becomes involved with drugs, his mother and his
team.

Falling Action:  Through games and some run-ins with
his friends and his girlfriend Slam begins to see that he needs to make some changes in
his life in order to be the best person that he can
be.

Conclusion: in the end of the book we see that this
isnt just a story of a basketball player but a teenage boy who discovers who he really
is and it isnt just a basketball player, a best friend, a son, a brother, a boyfriend it
is much more.
