Cherry doesn't give a specific reason why she could fall
in love with Dally, just that if she ever saw him again, she would fall in love with
him. However, judging by her taste in boys, namely Bob her boyfriend, we can assume she
likes wild, bad boys. Bob is out-of-control with his antics and constantly pushes the
envelop much like Dally. Bob also feels unloved and is always trying to get the
attention of his parents. That is a direct parallel to Dally who has been abandoned by
his parents. Perhaps Cherry is attracted to this particular need in a
guy.
