Why didn't the great man Gandhi become a lawyer as he wished at first? In our sylabus this year we are taught each important event about Gandhi's...

I believe, that the great man Gandhi is referring to
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known in India as Mahatma Gandhi. If so the
assumption implied in the question that Mahatma Gandhi did not become a lawyer is
incorrect.

Mahatma Gandhi did become a lawyer.  and had a
very successful law practice in South Africa. Of course, Mahatma Gandhi was also
interested in many other fields, and was an engaged in things like experimenting with
new ways of living. He set up a small establishment called Tolstoy Farm, where he lived
following such ways of living, along with some other like minded
people.

Mahatma Gandhi had to practically give up his law
practice when he returned to India, and became too much involved in his struggle for
freedom of India from the British.
